tapas barWe were driving along trying to decide on where to go eat (somewhere we’ve never been before) and a little Victorian house caught my eye. This tiny restaurant is called Tapas Bar (located on 222 Lyon Street). As we awkwardly walked in not knowing what to expect, we found ourselves in this teeny tiny little home-style joint. I liked what I saw! We were greeted and seated by two really friendly ladies (who I presume are the owners). They gave us menus right away and made a few suggestions as to what they thought were great dishes. We ended up ordering mussels in a white wine sauce, spicy Spanish sausage, Spanish chicken in a tomatoes sauce and spicy shrimp. All of the dishes were really good, but we were told by the waitress’s upon ordering that the portions are big…When we got each dish we glanced at each other in disappointment. The portions were pretty tiny…I think I only received 6 shrimp, maybe?

All in all the food was good, the prices are decent ($8-$12/plate) and the atmosphere is really cozy and homey. I would suggest this place as a date spot (although don’t count on too much privacy because this joint is tiny!)
