This week, Calgary and the rest of Canada were stirred up by the Juno awards (http://www.junoawards.ca/ ). Although most Canadian artists are usually nominated (there aren’t that many of them!) the cream of the crop won last night.

Big shouts to my boy Belly (http://cprecords.com/) for winning “Rap Recording of the Year” – his album is truly Revolutionary to Canadian music – in my opinion. He opened the door for a different type of sound here…CONGRATS!!!

Other winners which are worth mentioning included Jully Black for R&B Soul Recording of the Year, Feist for POP Album of the year, Serena Ryder for new artist of the year, Michael Buble for Juno Fan Choice, Billy Newton-Davis, Measha Brueggergosman, Derek Miller and many more.

It’s connected to Parliament Ultra Club (formally Capital Music Hall) as well as Liquor Store (formally On Tap). Nothing too special I must say…Sunday night, it’s the spot to check out.

The music is top 40 and hip hop on the Liquor Store side and House/Techno on the Industry side. $5 cover and no dress code.
