Went to go see Sex and the City II with my girls and LOVED IT!!

I must admit that at first glance, it wasn’t love, but in the end it WAS really love! (I found the beginning parts to be a little cheezy – but as the movie went on I was too dazzled by my favorite on-screen girlfriends to notice anything else!)

I heard some reviews talk about the cheese factor as well, and I know what they mean, but really – what would Sex and The City II be without a little cheese? LOL

Even though I liked it – I’m not sure how I felt about the storyline. I’m not exactly sure what the “big picture” storyline was. Yes, there was some everyday drama that was familiar with the Sex and the City classic episodes; The kind of drama that everyone could relate to – marriage, kids, sex, love etc. But I felt like there was an underling message in this movie because it was based around the middle eastern themes of : oppression and freedom (or lack of) for women. I felt that this movie was SOO typicaly American. Samantha’s character especially (of course). Her lack of understanding of another culture was actually alittle annoying…No wonder the movie was banned in the middle east.

And Carrie’s drama with Big – come on! They aren’t 15 years old! Jeez! (Not gonna give it away, don’t worry!)

My favourite parts of the movie were the fashion of course and Carrie and Big’s apartment. (It was also the nostlagic moments that brought me back to my “love at first sight” with the original show).

BUT…With everything said – I must round this off by saying – I still loved the movie and I think its an excellent girls night event!!! It made you laugh, it pulled at your heart strings and if you don’t look for anything deep – just take it for what it is (ENTERAINMENT) you will love it too!

(For a) Girls night out I give it a 10/10

Oh! On a last note, my 10/10 is warranted by the fashion inspiration I get from Sex and the City. I walked away planning my next outfit and yearning to reorganize my walk in closet!

Stay Fly
