The one simple difference with this joint is that you can order ONE OF EACH roll if that’s what your hungry belly desires. I find that all the other spots don’t give you a choice: If your craving spicy salmon rolls – you better be ready to chomp down 6 of em! But with this spot you can get all adventurous and try out all sorts of delectable rolls that you were always afraid to try before! And another bonus is that you will never have to pay for any leftovers!

• The service is great! It’s quick and really friendly and they’re open late.
• The prices are the same as any other AYCE  sushi spots: $20 – $25
• The restaurant is spacious and has an open concept (doesn’t have booths for privacy like Sushi Kan). I purposefully look for little details at restos that give me a good idea about the cleanliness of them: bathrooms were clean and they have a huge fish tank at the front – spotless. That tells me that they are careful about hygiene and cleanliness.

Green represents a lot of things and always has…Money, Environment, Health etc.

But “Greens First” takes it to the next level…

Been using this product and realized that not many people  (I know), know about the amazing powers of GREENS FIRST.

I absolutely love to eat – but it’s always been really hard for me to sit down and eat breakfast first thing in the morning. I usually eat for the first time in the day at around 11 am…I realized that it wasn’t healthy and I wanted to do something about it so I started looking at my options.

I really can’t ever force myself to eat, it really takes out all the fun from your meal (even if it is just breakfast) and I really don’t ever have time to make a shake in the morning…So I found this stuff. (I tried other brands before and they literally made me gag!)

Greens First comes in a powder form that you don’t need to blend – just pour a scoop in a large glass and stir with a spoon. What the powder actually is – 49 “super foods” – with fruit, vegetable and barley grass juice powders, not just powdered dried fruits and vegetables and indigestible powdered wheat or barley grasses. And these juices are “flash dried” to retain the natural enzymes of fresh raw juice.

The BEST PART is that it tastes GREAT! It’s like drinking cold mint tea – I actually look forward to the taste every morning.

The product also claims to surpass the raw food nutrition of more than 10+ servings of organic fruits and vegetables and alkalize your body’s PH levels.

I REALLY like this product because it tastes great, its EXTREMELY HEALTHY and it gives me a huge ENERGY BOOST! So I hope you try it too!

What a MASTERPIECE this spot is!!!

Canvas is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to in terms of taste of food.

I quote their website:

“Canvas prides itself in being an inviting little neighborhood bistro in the ever growing Wellington West area of Ottawa. Our goal is to keep everything as fresh and locally sourced as possible. This means a menu that is always being re-invented and developed according to the seasons and availability.”

First of all – I LOVE the idea of an ever changing menu with each season. I think that this is the ONLY way to go with any GREAT restaurant. It just makes sense to me that a good restaurant would carry food that is available by season. (As a side note, I also believe that not every resto should be the same…although I love the idea of “self-sustainable” – I also like having the choice of eating a variety of foods at any time of year.) With that said – it’s a food fact that eating foods that are in season taste a milli times better than foods that have been shipped half way across the world….But that’s a whole othaaa blog!

So, lets get to it.

As I was saying – if you LOVE food as much as a I do, this place is a MUST for many reasons:

1. Its elegant and cozy inside – appropriate to celebrate a special occasion, have a date OR just chill on any night of the week
2. The staff is INCREDIBLE. When I was there, it felt as though every person who I talked to had their heart pouring into every part of the restaurant…If someone asked me to guess who the owner was, I’d guess that they’re ALL owners by the way they treated us and handled each dish.
3. The food is INCREDIBLE. When I say you can taste love in every bite, believe it baby.

Everything from the most simple green salad or mashed potato to the most exquisite lamb plate, had LOVE. It tasted as though there was a “secret ingredient” in every bite. Even the way that the waiter served us was with love.

I can’t even get into the dishes we had because then, I’d have to recommend something…and its too hard to chose! Let’s just say that we tried the lamb, cornish hen and steak…and they were the best cuts of meat any of us ever had.

I went back to my new favourite nail shop: Divine Nails and brought a few of my girlfriends for a Mani/Pedi girls night.

Our experience once again was FABULOUS. Customer service is DEFINATELY the #1 priority of this shop…

The BEST part of getting a mani/pedi @ this spot – other than the fantastic treatment – THE PRICE. Ladies, brace yourselves…You will pay $38. YES, that’s right, that’s not a mistake.

Me and my girls all agreed – when we see a crazy price advertised like that – we are very weary – it’s usually a no-no to pay so little for a mani/pedi (usually you almost always walk out of there with fear in the back of  your mind) but TRUST me this spot is NOT one of those…Like I said in my previous post, this place is elegant, clean, upscale and the service matches that image precisely!

The most exciting part of my mani was my first time ever getting “Shellac-ed”! This stuff goes on like polish but it wears like gel…My nails have been done for almost a week now and still SHINY and PERFECT from the first day! Its totally worth the extra $12 you pay for the stuff! I am NOT going back to regular polish ever again! It’s amazing – and its really perfect for girls that have brittle nails because it acts like a strong shield against breakage and chipping. Aaaand…it comes off like its polish too!  I’ve gotten SO MANY COMPLIMENTS on my nails so I’m excited to share my secret

We were first debating s few different spots in china town but came to the conclusion that T&T was on the top of the list because we can get some ready made food there, as well as pick up ingredients to make the rest of the dishes we wanted – our way.

Here’s what we bought:

• peaking duck
• short ribs
• cabbage sticky buns
• veggie and pork dumplings
• kim chi
• sesame balls
• a package of dry soba noodles (buckwheat noodles)

So everything in our feast was pretty much ready made – we just decided that we wanted to add our own noodles and egg to the kim chi (see the picture above). It was incredible!

BUT I MUST CONFESS that I left the BEST for LAST – all I’m gotta say is that I’m DEF using this spot next time I need a b-day cake or some  DIVA desserts – T&T has the BEST cakes and cupcakes I’ve ever seen! Seriously – my mouth was watering when I was walking through the bakery section!

They look FRESH to def and they taste it too!

There are  a few little high end cupcake shops in town…But I find that they just use a lot of  icing and they’re pretty…but T&T cupcakes are F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S!

You can get individual ones, tray fulls of them or cute custom cakes that won’t cost you an arm and a leg!

This product is BOSS!!!

Almost every single female I know, opts to NOT wash her hair every single day…We tend to do the deed every other day because we’re on the go or just because of the type of hair that we have (especially us ladies with curls!) And I know A LOT of hair stylists that tend to recommend that women wash their hair only 2-3 times per week. I personally cannot go without washing every other day – just because of the type of hair I have, but I find it perfectly normal to wash every 2 days too.

I saw a commercial for this product and KNEW I was in HAIR HEAVEN.

Tresemme is a dry shampoo product that…

• Is formulated with Mineral Clay that soaks up excess oil and impurities to leave hair looking refreshed.
• Contains Citrus Extracts to neutralize odor and enhance clean feeling.
• Volumizes oily/straight hair that becomes limp in between shampoos, giving hair added body and bounce.
• Perfect for color-treated hair, it reduces the need to wash as frequently, which prevents color from fading.

Once you spray it in, leave it for a minute or two to let it suck in all the oils. Then brush your hair out and/or tossle it with your fingers to  style. (When this product dries it turns to a bit of a white powder – so make sure to get that all out unless you like to walk around lookin like you had a bag of cocaine dropped on your head) LOL I’m kidding…it’s not that bad!

Anyways – I really love this product because of the texture that it lends to my hair – it almost doubles as a  thickening spray.

I recommend it to any woman with hair – thick or thin.

1.) I Can\’t Dance – Dirt Nasty feat LMFAO

The beat’s good for what it is – tipsy at the club…I hate the jewish music part tho…And usually, I don’t like LMFAO for their pointless lyrics – and there’s nothing different with this song, but I could see it being a big club banger among younger goers.

2.) VooDoo – Supa Show

Never heard of this dude before and I can’t find much on him on YouTube…I don’t mind this song though. On the real, the steel drums, I could do without…But this guy stands out as a reggae/dancehall singer, because even people that don’t listen to this type of music could get into it because you can understand what he’s saying. Ya’ll know what I’m talking about.

3.) Chasing the Paper – Dub Gabriel

This dude – Dub Gabriel was grimy beats. There a mix between reggae, techno and jungle. I really like this sound alot. I know there’s been many other artist that hit up this type of music (one of my favorite being When I Was A Youth – Ed Solo being one of my ultimate favorites) but there’s a darkness and grimy-ness that stands out in Dub Gabriel that I feel makes him in a bit of another category.

4.) Life We Living – Vybz Kartel

And last but not least I wanna bring you back to another (newer but not brand new track.) Vybz Kartel is a pretty hard core reggae/dancehall artist – and he’s not for everyone but I really like this song because you can feel how much heart he put into it. So for those who haven’t heard it – it’s a great one.
